질문한다.

-Blatch : Oh, Carrie, Jared is the writer of the book Avenue B.

제라드는 ‘애비뉴 b’의 저자야

And New York magazine just named him

one of the 30 coolest people under 30 in the city.

-Carrie : Wow. What an honor.

굉장하네요

 

-Jared : If they were doing the 30 sexiest women under 30...

I’m sure you’d go right to the top of the list.

 

-Carrie : You’re quite the storyteller.

-Jared : That’s no lie.

표현 3) 심란한 Carrie는 남자 친구(?) 미스터 빅과 통화를 마친 후 친구 Miranda를 만난다. 

"우리 약속 아직 유효하지? 영어로 표현할 땐?

 

-Mr. Big : I’m just calling to confirm tomorrow night. Are we still on?

내일 약속 확인하려고 전화했어

아직 유효하지?

 

-Carrie : Yeah, of course we are.

Why wouldn’t we be?

물론이야, 왜 아니겠어?

 

I was striving for noncommittal, but I was worried I had bordered on shrill.

캐묻지 않으려고 애를 쓰지만

자꾸 목소리가 높아져요
